Currently on tour in the U.S. to promote her debut CD, the rags to riches crooner had a mental episode following a perfect performance on NBC's The Today Show. Apparently a quilt was given as a gift, knitted together by hundreds of people from 28 countries including the UK, US, Australia, Mexico, Japan and Antarctica. This seemed to send Boyle over the edge, sobbing and sucking her thumb. A spokesman said, "She was just overjoyed and extremely touched with the reception she had had from everyone in America."
