New Moon has raked in $72.7 million in it's first day, setting the highest record for any release ever. This amount includes the previously reported $26.3 million earned on the midnight showing, with that breaking a record as well. At this rate the film has a very good shot at exceeding The Dark Knight's opening weekend sales of $158.4 million.Twilight fans are such die hards!
